If you’ve ever been to the Crestron showroom at the DDB, you’ll know how exciting technology in design can be. For example, at the last event, we learned that designing with technology, is simply fun.
"Its kind of like you have a staff, but the staff is electronic," said Brian Mcauliff, President of Bri-Tech. "There are a layer of things that go from convenience, to digitial security and safety, to fun."
Part of the reason we’re so excited Crestron is making their debut at the PDC today is to see all the creative ways they trick out their showroom with cutting edge technology.
Ami Wright, the Vertical Marketing Director at Crestron, has found that interior technologies have become an integral part of the design of a home and balancing its functionality with aesthetics is more important than ever before.
“The new Crestron Design Showroom demonstrates how interior technology can artfully blend together in a real-life, luxury home environment to enhance comfort, convenience and security,” said Wright.
Why the PDC? “The PDC is a leading resource for design trades and thus it’s a great fit for Crestron,” said Wright. “Design philosophy has moved away from having a separate digital/electronic world that is added into the project. Now it’s infused from the onset when the designer formulates their vision, and having a Crestron Design Showroom available is mutually beneficial for everyone involved.”
Some of the most popular Crestron Technologies that designers are incorporating into their home designs include: motorized shading solutions, lighting control, and security.
At the grand opening today, designers can expect to see a full day of events including a presentation of various award-winning projects from around the world to provide examples and inspiration, seminars on shading solutions and integrating Apple into the home, as well as an open house and an evening reception.
"The Crestron Showroom is a place to educate and increase collaboration on projects,” said Wright. “It is a place where design meets technology.”
