Another awards season is upon us, and as always, Go Design Go is on the lookout for red carpet looks that bring to mind stylish interiors and showroom products for our Fashion Meets Interiors series. This month, it was the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. (ICYMI: We covered the Golden Globes last month.) On Sunday, A-listers came together to celebrate Music’s Biggest Night in head-turning fashions that struck a chord with the interiors world.
Green queen
Not only did Adele steal the show by walking away with five awards (and offering a thoughtful shoutout to Beyoncé and performing a George Michael tribute), but she also proved that a high-neck, long-sleeve olive green gown, if done right, can be the very opposite of plain. From a Stark rug (pictured above, center) to a bedroom designed by Alexa Hampton (pictured above, right) with textiles from Pierre Frey, the same rings true in interiors—Pantone did name Greenery as its 2017 Color of the Year, after all.
Mixed mediums
Before changing outfits to perform onstage, singer Katy Perry stepped out in a glamorous, metallic gown that incorporated sequins and feathers, just like this bedroom in interior designer Benjamin Noregia-Ortiz‘s own Rockaway Park, New York, residence.
Golden glow
Also in metallic, Solange Knowles showed up to the Grammys in this eye-catching gold Gucci number. The two-tone effect created by the gown’s pleating reminded us of a glamorous mirror from the estate of design legend Rose Cumming.
Pretty in pastel
Jennifer Lopez strutted down the red carpet in a Ralph & Russo gown with a touch of tulle and—typical JLo—a plunging neckline and a sky-high leg slit. The pale purply-pink shade is strikingly similar to Benjamin Moore‘s Passion Pink (2075-60).
Fluid motion
The sweeping stripe look of Kat Graham‘s form-fitting sequin dress instantly brought to mind a statement-making rug Los Angeles–based designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard selected for one space in Tommy and Dee Hilfiger‘s South Florida beach home, which was featured in Architectural Digest.
