The Parties: A Worthy Cause For Celebration! Hope Lodge, the annual Birthday Bash fundraising gala celebrated their 10th year at the iconic Guastavino’s event space. The fundraiser benefits Hope Lodge NYC, a 60-room facility that provides no-cost housing to cancer patients and their primary caregivers. This year’s bash, spearheaded by the renowned interior design team at Décor by Guillaume Gentet, presented a unique dining experience, musical performances by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus on a donated Steinway & Sons. baby grand piano, plus a live auction. The 300-some guests were surrounded by elaborately adorned tablescapes designed by 29 top interior designers. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge NYC.
The People: Hold Your Horses! Renowned designers such as Eric Haydel, Peti Lau, Tina Ramchandani and Arlene Angard presented their artfully themed tablescapes to an assortment of notable guests. WABC’s Diana Williams served as emcee as event chairs Ron and Sandy Diamond, Guillaume Gentet and David G. Carpenter, AIA and Michael Aram who served as Honorary Design Chair, toured the breathtaking artistry. GDG’s top centerpiece pick? Eric Haydel’s incredible flower powered horse sculpture which featured Sahola Floral Art Event Design.
The Top on Tap: Since 2007, Hope Lodge NYC has provided over 158,000 nights of free lodging to more than 17,000 guests. This year’s Hope Lodge party exceeded their goal of $200,000 by raising over $500,000 for cancer patients and their families. This included a $100,000 donation from the Drs. Martin and Dorothy Spatz Charitable Foundation. DDB donating partners included: Brunschwig & Fils, Kravet, Lee Jofa, Lladró, Osborne & Little, Robert Allen, Taffard Fabrics, Style Library, Thibaut and Assouline.
