April showers bring… lots of fabulous interiors. Spring is here and we asked designers to share their go-to spring things that they whip out in their personal home décor or client projects (spoiler: flowers galore).

“I would have to say baskets right off the top of my head! I have this incredible large circular basket that I had made for the spring. It’s about 26″ wide and I love spring flowers and ferns so I fill it up with maidenhair ferns, daffodils, tulips, etc. in terra-cotta pots! Put them on a side table and you’ve already made a huge statement!”

“Nothing embodies the essence of spring more than flowers as they represent a joyful transformation. These antique alabaster and gilt lamps are whimsical and give you that perfect fresh minty green color to transition into springtime.” Sasha Bikoff Italian Gilt Metal Lamps, $1,500.

“Plaids, tartans, ginghams and taffetas!’ What better way to celebrate springtime than to energize for the coming summer for any room- often I have bold color plaid pillows made for clients as a ‘refresh’ for them to put on a sofa come the warmer months- It’s cheerful and refreshing!”

“I love to incorporate fresh seasonal flowers as the winter fades and spring approaches the horizon. There are so many beautiful floral options this time of year. I also like to incorporate some lighter textures and fabrics, like linen and cotton, to provide an airier feel to a space.”

“I always update my outdoor decor with new throw pillows and accent furniture. One of the best ways I like to enjoy the warm weather is by gathering with family and friends to dine outdoors. I am always creating colorful tablescapes filled with seasonal fresh fruits and flowers to make my outdoor space company-ready and in the spirit of spring.”

“I’m obsessed with scents in the home. During the winter months, I burn candles with smokey fireside undertones and by the time Spring rolls around I’m always ready to switch it up to something light and fresh. I absolutely love the Bunny Williams Timeless Candle. Although I don’t change my own decor seasonally, I always mix it up with plant life and floral enhancements. In the winter I focus more on leafy plants, but in spring I start to purchase more fresh flowers and plants in bloom. I often source the Union Square Market as they have a great variety depending on the time of year.” Bunny Williams Timeless Candle, $55.

“It’s time to swap out those heavy, earth-toned hues for soft, airy ones! I love layering minty blues, nude-based blushes, and a slightly heavier pink [for a solid dose of inspo, look no further than the Oscars Red Carpet]. These soothing spring hues can be introduced via pillows, blankets, bedding and smaller upholstery items, and look amazing when paired with richly woven textures.”

“This spring- I’m excited to use the new deep mustard color tablecloth and napkins made from fabric from JAB USA. I used the solid fabric in my dining room at the NY Now show and enjoyed the response to the bold and trending hue.”

“There’s nothing like fun, new throw pillows to update a space for the season. Fresh cut flowers help to bring the new life of the outdoors in.”
